Nirvana’s video for Smells Like Teen Spirit is based on the song from their album titled Nevermind, which was released in September, 1991.
Nevermind was the bands second studio album and sold over a whopping 26 million albums worldwide, with over 10 million sold in the U.S. certifying it a 10X Platinum seller.
Smells Like Teen Spirit contributed largely to that success as it reached the top area’s of various charts including becoming popular on MTV, winning awards there. It was nominated for several Grammy Awards and has itself sold over 1 million copies as a single.
