The single was recorded from a live concert on March 17, 1985 at the Long Beach Arena- Los Angeles, California.
Prior to this, The Trooper was initially included on the bands album titled Piece of Mind, which was released in 1983. The song was later included on several of the band’s albums as it became one of their most popular.
